SRA 2020 Rowing Season underway
Towing the boats to storage
The racks are empty until we move the boats back in April

The 2020 SRA rowing season on Lake Pinchot is gearing up. The winter hiatus ends when we move boats back to the Lake the first weekend of April. In the meantime, we have events for members and nonmembers alike throughout January - June.

The SRA Executive Committee has plotted short term goals for 2020. Members can access Documents > Minutes to get info on Association priorities. In addition, Discussion Forums have been added to the website.

  • Consult the About Us tab to learn more about SRA, available rowing classes and membership options.

SRA will be hosting the MARC Regatta on Lake Pinchot, April 25, 2020. We're always looking for volunteers to help orchestrate this awesome event. It features Division III women’s and men’s rowing teams from the Mid-Atlantic Conference. The Regatta is a great introduction to the sport: lots of excited, dedicated college athletes competing for glory. Come and observe! Think about joining the SRA. Then come to our National Learn to Row Day, Saturday, June 6. You will receive a "one on one" introduction to rowing through on land and on-the-water lessons.

Rowing Safety is paramount. At any point, most likely for reasons beyond your control, a sudden gust, chop or wake will pitch you into the water, perhaps in the middle of the lake.

Check out this Rowing Safety Video from US Rowing. SRA runs a Flip Test session in late July every year.

SRA stores 15 boats at Lake Pinchot including singles, doubles, quads for sculling and a sweep boat. Brands include Vespoli, Peinert and others.
