7/20/2019 Flip Test 

Held after the SRA Sprints, the flip test means you flip your boat on purpose. The flip test prepares you to get back into the boat if you flip by accident. No one flips on purpose. It can happen to even experienced rowers. It can happen because of winds, chop, an imbalance between your weight and the boat’s weight class, your power and other causes. Here's a video what to expect.

6/29/19 and 7/20/19 SRA Sprints

Before racing season kicks in, the club runs sprints where interested members can test their racing skills. Open to racers and non racers

8/3/2019 Moonlight Row

Moonlight Row at  Shikallemy State Park on the Susquehanna River in Sunbury. Bucknell crew used to row here. Racers will probably skip this event because of the Quaker City Race on the same day. But casual rowers have an opportunity to get a dreamy row in and make new friends. CPRA provides the boats. Check for updates: Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association

8/3/2019 Quaker City

In Philadelphia on the Schuykill River along historic Boathouse Row. The registration deadline is Monday, July 29, 2019. The Race is Saturday, August 3, 2019. 1000 meter race format. Entry fee includes multiple races, t-shirt and post race beer and pizza at the Fairmount club boathouse. Visit the Fairmount Rowing Club website for more updates. 

8/24/19 10 Mile Challenge

We'll form boats out of whoever shows up and go for 10 miles at your best pace. Prep for Wye Island

9/7/19 Wye Island Regatta - CANCELLED by Sponsors

If you want to test your mettle, this is the race for you. The 13.1 mile race is open to all person-powered boats There are categories for every skill level! Get updates at Annapolis Rowing Club.

TBD Crying Towel Regatta

The Central Pennsylvania Rowing Association is kind of the sister city for SRA. They sponsor the Crying Towel Challenge and the Moonlight Row. They let us use their boats. We mix up the crews in the boats so CPRA and SRA members row together. Check the CPRA website for updates.

9/22/19 Head of the Potomac

Typically, Bruce represents SRA at this event. But all are welcome. 2.8-mile course that extends down the Potomac River along the Virginia shore across from the Georgetown/Foggy Bottom waterfront in Washington, D.C. The sculling events that give the regatta its name will be complemented by sweep events. Check the Thompson Boat Center website.

9/29/19 King’s Head Regatta

The Upper Merion Boat Club is located on the Schuylkill River in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, about 15 miles northwest of the famous Philadelphia Boathouse Row. Bridgeport PA Held last weekend in September in 2018. Check status atUpper Merion Boat Club 

10/5/19 Head of the Ohio

One of the largest regattas in the country, the Head of the Ohio attracts rowers of all ages and abilities including Juniors, Masters, Adaptive, and Collegiate rowers. 3 mile Head Race. Drew Martin represented SRA in 2018 in a single. Yay! Drew! We also had a quad which got a bronze out of three competitors! This is a fun race course. You count the bridges as you sweat and strain! Perfect psychology for rowers! The Head of the Ohio Regatta is hosted by Three Rivers Rowing Association.

10/12/19 Navy Day Regatta

Philadelphia Boathouse Row Held second weekend of October in 2018. Check status at Navy Day Regatta
